Charles Harding working at Brentford LockDavid Holt sent this splendid photo of his grandfather, Charles Harding, working at Brentford Lock. He dates it to after 1925 'as he was a Sailor in the Merchant Navy in his younger years until a few years after WW1.' The photo shows an advertising hoarding for Robertson's "Ideal" Toffees. LinksThere are some views of Brentford Lock on the site, for example Peter Young's photos from 1974. Robertson's Toffee Factory was near Brentford Bridge and backed on to Brentford Dock. It features in a piece written by a descendant, Andrew Robertson. For other views try a search on the home page for 'Robertson' or 'Brentford Lock' Published March 2025 |
