Not Brentford

Will of Thomas Hopkins, slopseller of New Brentford, 1850

Abstract of will

... I give and devise and bequeath unto my dear wife Jemima all and every my estate and effects ... and I ... appoint my said dear wife Jemima sole executrix

Dated 14th March 1846; signed by Thomas Hopkins

... witnessed by Joseph HILL of New Brentford; Thomas A WOODBRIDGE, Solicitor, 8 Cliffords Inn

... proved 10th July 1850 by the oath of Jemima Hopkins widow, the relict the sole executrix

Notes

The testator lived at 173 High Street in 1841 and his widow remained there in 1851.

You may have imagined a slopseller was something to do with pig swill (I'd guessed that anyway). Wikipedia: slops were 'cheap ready-made clothing or rough working dress. Typically these would be butchers' aprons or articles of clothing and bedding issued or sold to sailors'.

Thomas A WOODBRIDGE was a local solicitor, but has used his (more prestigious?) city address here.

How to see this will in full
