Fay Twydell has provided this photo from 1997, 'this is near the canal, they made injection moulded goods such as plastic plugs etc and also Melaware at the time I worked there ca 1960'.

The building has an Art Deco air about it suggesting it was built in the 1930s. It must have been after 1935 as an OS Map from this date shows just a Toffee factory in this area.

Diane Lockie has provided photos of Ranton's in the 1940s, showing the building as it was intended to look.
