Brentford Redevelopment, March 2023

The south side of New Brentford is being redeveloped and Janet McNamara is keeping a photographic record; the first photo was taken on 12 March, the second and third on 18 March, 2023. They show demolition east of Dock Road. Over to Janet:

Here are a few pictures of the latest demolition along the High Street. The Heidelberg site is the next for redevelopment.
The first is across Morrison’s car park with the painted car park to the right.
The second is over the wall looking towards the High Street from Timber Wharf Walk.
The 3rd is High Street looking east and you may be able to pick out the name of the alley on the post between the white and the blue hoardings (Timber Wharf Walk ).
It runs through to the canal and does a right angled bend to follow the canal to the Thames.
The name must refer to the Montgomrey’s timber wharf.

The area south of High Street between Pump Alley and Dock Road was dominated by Montogmrey's timberyard for over 80 years up to 1911. There were residential properties fronting the High Street too - read more.
