Remembrance Sunday, 1934Janet McNamara sent several photos provided by Linda Lambourne featuring Brentford's John May (Jack) Clarke, born 1889, and provided details:This photo was taken on Remembrance Sunday at the Memorial outside Brentford Library. Jack Clarke is wearing medals on the left of the flag bearer. The Mayor at the time was Councillor Lane and on his right I'm sure is Councillor Charles Henry Curtis the deputy mayor. CH Curtis wrote books about sweet peas, topiary and orchids and grew rare plants (Janet has prepared his biography, which will be added shortly). Roger Davis identified Harry F Davis, wearing glasses, two to the left of Mayor Lane. If you can add any names please get in touch. Published October 2012 |
