The Hollows, Brentford, 1972Peter Young's photo was taken as the sun was going down on 12th December 1972, a view of Brentford's riverside taken from the south. Lots of flats have already been built. St George's church tower stands out and to the right could be Thames Row - white painted, clinging to the waterfront. Nearby a boat with sails is near the Hollows wharf and a few other craft are visible. A quiet view, not much going on. To the left is Brentford Ait.Another view of the Hollows from The Condition Of The Poor In Rural Brentford by David Shavreen, Brentford & Chiswick Local History Society. Published February 2016 |
