Dew Drop Inn, 120 High Street, 1951Thanks to Pauline Stanhope (nee Young) for this 1951 view of the High Street opposite the Market Place, from an old calendar. At the time this area was about to be rebuilt as the County Parade. A photo from around the same time, similar view puts the Dew Drop Inn at no. 120; after the re-build it was at no. 125 and Woolworths occupied numbers 120 to 122.The Old Vaults, 1647 signage is at numbers 121 and 122 but doesn't appear in the other photo (link above): possibly the sign was added in 1947, commemorating 300 years.
