Some random Brentford memoriesIn July 2025 Clive Schofield spotted memories of Cyril Smith and wrote: We were both born in 1936, you at Boars Head Yard where my dad Jack was a coach builder. My dad used to accompany Mr Caunt to a British Restaurant during the war to cut up his meat because he had a hook for one hand. To amuse me Mr Caunt used to take out his glass eye. Just a random memory. My son, in Wales, has an original Boars Head Yard road sign mounted in his house. Another thing comes to mind. I have some lumps of sold paint in multi coloured layers that fell off the wall of the paint shop at Cooper and Caunts when they closed down. It was where they cleaned their brushes, they are like works of abstract art. LinksRead more about Boars Head Yard where Cooper and Caunts operated by 1911. Read other people's Brentford memories.
