Brentford Families - ClimpsonNigel Climpson (February 2011): I am a GGgrandson of Charles Climpson who was a master bootmaker at 164 High Street. Formerly he practised in Chesham. He married Lydia Harris who was a Brentford girl.Nigel provided two photos showing Charles Thomas Climpson and Lydia Climpson (nee Harris), he estimated the date as around 1900: The photos were taken in a studio. Charles is standing with an open newspaper. Lydia is sitting in an ornately carved chair, holding a small card. There are some flowers on a nearby table. Nigel adds 'My impression is that the photographs would have been taken at the same time and are just formal poses. I don't think they necessarily mark any particular occasion, but perhaps a significant birthday or wedding anniversary'. TopPage published April 2011 |
