Will of William Draper, labourer of Old Brentford, 1849

Abstract of will

I give and devise unto my dear wife all that my freehold house & appurtenances situate in Old Brentford ... which I lately purchased of Mr (or Mrs?) John GOLDING

... and after the decease of my said wife I give and devise my said freehold house ... unto my two sons and daughter William Draper Samuel Draper and Nancy Draper

... all the rest residue and remainder ... I give the same ... unto my said wife

. ... dated 25th August 1824 William Draper signed with a 'x'

... witnessed by John HILL (or NEILL?) Old Brentford; John James CLARK Brentford; Thomas Anthony WOODBRIDGE, Brentford

On the 26 November 1849 Admiistraion with the will annexed .... of William Draper late of Old Brenford ... labourer, widower, deceased, was granted to William Draper on the natural ... lawful children of the said deceased having been first sworn duly to administer, Ann Draper the wife ... having died in his lifetime

The testator

William Draper appears to have lived at 372 High Street, a short distance east of St George's Church (1841 census and tithe map).

The witness John HILL or NEILL: the tithe map and 1841 census include a John NEILL who occupied a property across the road from no. 372.
