Gwen Abigail's Tea Party ca 1917

Roger Davis has provided this charming photo showing an outdoor tea party for some little girls. It was taken around 1917 in the back garden of 59 Kew Bridge Road.
6 small girls at outdoor tea party

The hostess was Gwen ABIGAIL. A Gwendoline M. Abigail birth was registered in Brentford in the April-June quarter of 1911: maybe the party was to celebrate her 6th birthday. Perhaps Gwen has the ornate hat and larger doll.

Roger's mother Rose HARRISON is the little girl on the left and like the other girls has spendid hair ribbons.

Dolls and one teddy bear were also guests. Small china cups are visible and the party fare included fairycakes and possibly fruit, biscuits and sandwiches.

In 1937 a Gwendoline M Abigail married George L ROWELL in Brentford Registration District.
