Not Brentford

Late 1950s / early 1960s photo - Brentford Gas Works do

Trevor Mitchell has provided this photo: 'The attached has my father (labelled) in a hall at some kind of celebration. I have shown it to relatives and we cannot recognise anyone else. Looking at the women’s style of dress it looks to have taken place in the late 50’s to the early 60’s. It could be a works party at Brentford Gas Works and wondered if you might be able to circulate it or put it on the website to find out if this is indeed the case.'
Inside photo, around 40 people, men in suits, ladies in dresses, some bunting, dark outside but no Christmas decorations visible

Ron Tidy, ex 72 North Rd, adds August 2011: I think that the tall man with glasses at back row left is my uncle Bill Lee who was a foreman at the Gas Works, he lived at 7, Distillery Rd.

Patricia Johnson Parma adds August 2012: relatives from North Rd are almost sure that the man in the front row on the left is Charlie Green and he has his hands on the shoulders of his wife, the lady next to him wearing glasses, her name is Ethel Green. They lived in North Road about that time, so I'm told.
