Brentford Football Club Team 1926-27

Howard Webb sent the postcard image by an unknown publisher in 2013, the players' names are in pencil on the back.

In 2019 Doug Chinnery sent a second postcard image from the same season, by Wakefields (there are several postcards by this local photography outfit on the website).
Brentford Football Club team, 1926/7

Back Row (left to right): Tom Radcliff (trainer); Jim Donnelly; Harry Rae; Steve Dearn; Jim Ferguson; Jack Beecham; Herbert Bellamy; Charles Butler; Harry Curtis (Secretary/Manager)
Front Row: Ernest Watkins; Jack Lane; Patsy Hendren; Jack Allen; Alf Douglas

Thanks to Mark Chapman, Deputy Head of Media and Communications, Brentford Football Club who provided additional names and corrections May 2014.

This second postcard includes twelve men, the team of eleven plus their trainer, and one name has been lost - the person the fourth from the right. He could be Allen, Beecham, Dearn or Douglas. There are two players who are not in the first image: A. Noble and W. Berry; the trainer, Tom Radcliff is 'Ratcliff'.

Read more about Jim Donnelly: Jim Donnelly: the greatest Irish football story you've never heard of, one of the most revered and highly-regarded coaches in European football.
There are several local team photos, in fact I may set up a separate category for them ...

Please get in touch if you recognise anyone.
