Not Brentford

Christmas postcard, 1917, Brentford

Peter Stuart provided this WW1 postcard dating from 1917. It has a Union Jack background and shows King George V thanking a soldier and sailor outside a picturesque church, caption Your King and country thank you. Space underneath allowed places to personalise their message, in this case it reads:
St George's Church, Brentford.
Try and make a special effort to come to Holy Communion on Christmas Day 1917, Don't forget Midnight Service on New Year's Eve.

T. Selby Henrey, Vicar.

The Reverend Thomas Selby Henrey was vicar of St George's church from 1895 until his retirement in 1930; read more about his family.
